“To tend the flock of God that is in your charge, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion but willingly, as God would have you do it—not for sordid gain but eagerly. Do not lord it over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock.” (1 Peter 5:3–3)
ROYSTER STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
rev. Brian Harroff, pastor
Brian is a second-career pastor who was ordained in 2010. He and his wife Lisa have two daughters. Brian is from the Central Ohio area and is an alumnus of The Ohio State University. Prior to entering the ministry full-time, Brian spent 18 years in documentation and training for AT&T, which became Lucent Technologies, then Alcatel-Lucent. He also spent several years as a wastewater treatment consultant immediately following college.
Brian was raised Presbyterian. He was ordained as a deacon by the church in which he was raised. He was ordained as a ruling elder in the Presbyterian church in which he raised his daughters. Brian served as a bi-vocational pastor to a small church from 2008 – 2014 (he began his tenure as a student pastor). He entered full-time ministry as a transitional pastor in 2014. Brian worked with two yoked churches in Portsmouth, Ohio. He did transitional work in a church around Columbus, Ohio following that.
Sharon Foxwell, Organist and Music Director
Sharon joined the music ministry at Royster Presbyterian Church in September 2010. She provides leadership for the Chancel Choir, accompanies on organ and piano for worship, and assists in planning worship. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a Master of Church Music degree. She is also a professional accompanist. Sharon is married to Rev. Scott Foxwell and has a son, Robert.
Carol Bayma, Parish Visitor
The RMPC Parish Visitor is commissioned to ensure that home-bound or hospitalized members and friends, who are unable to attend corporate worship, educational and fellowship functions, are kept in communion with this fellow of believers through regular visits and the Sacrament of Communion. Regular visits are scheduled about every four to six weeks, as wished by visited members and/or their family. Currently these visits include reading of the Scripture and prayer along with general conversation about the visited member’s and the church’s concerns and joys.
Additionally, the Parish Visitor is currently organizing a team of Ruling Elders to extend the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to visited members. Our Presbyterian Directory for Worship charges the Session to provide for this Sacrament no less than once every three months; we are working toward that goal.
